At Pharmintech 2007 the IMA Group exhibited a series of innovative machines for the pharmaceutical industry.
Solid Dose Processing
On display, the KILIAN SYNTHESIS 500 force feed die feeding tablet press, able to reach a speed up to 360,000 tablets/hour. The isolation of the process area allows quick and easy cleaning. The machine is also available with WIP capability. The tablet press will be in line with the VIMA HERCULES lifting column designed for handling drums, IBCs, small machines, etc. Also on display, the VIMA TWINVALVE innovative high containment valve system with simple design and maximum efficiency. It can be used as standard butterfly valve on Bins and retrofitted on existing installations.
IMA showed the C80R, a medium speed blister machine characterised by superior performance and flexibility, capable of processing up to 400-600 blisters/minute. The C80R is able to handle a wide variety of packaging materials. Size changeover and machine cleaning are extremely easy and quick to perform.
IMA SWIFTPACK exhibited the SWIFTVISION II, a unique tablet counter that combines output and product quality. It is available in either a single or twin configuration or in multiples of both, to give speed capabilities from 50 to 200 bottles per minute, dependant on count per bottle.
Aseptic & Pharmaceutical Filling
On display, the IMA LIBRA STERIFILL F2000 high speed in-line filling & stoppering machine for aseptic environments (up to 600 vials/minute). With continuous motion positive transport system, this machine is suitable for filling liquid solutions into cylindrical vials and for the insertion of rubber stoppers.
CO.MA.DI.S. exhibited the new automatic tube filling machine C960, suitable to handle aluminium tubes - saddle fold. The machine has a stainless steel structure and a new type of automatic or, alternatively, ergonomic tube feeder (capacity up to 2,000 tubes). The C960 reaches a production speed of 60 tubes/minute.
End of Line
Finally on display, the new IMA BFB 3754 high speed top loading case-packer specifically designed to handle loose or bundled bottles and tubes. Speed: up to 25 cases/minute in simplex execution; up to 50 cases/minute in duplex execution.
